WORDS TO BEGIN WITH

What would you say
to the universe?

There is no correct wording. If you don't know where to start, borrow a beginning and finish it in your own words.

Write something of your own ↗

If you're making a wish

“I hope this coming year brings…”

“If I could ask for just one small change, it would be…”

Wishes can be playful or serious. You do not need to explain why something matters to you.

If you're feeling grateful

“Thank you for the unexpected moment when…”

“I never said this aloud, but I am grateful for…”

A thank-you doesn't need a recipient to be meaningful to the person writing it.

If you are saying goodbye

“There is something I wish I'd told you…”

“I am ready to remember this differently…”

Write only what feels appropriate. The website is not bereavement care or a substitute for support from real people.

If you're letting something go

“I've carried this thought for a long time…”

“I can't control the outcome, but I can choose to say…”

Sometimes a sentence is enough; there's no obligation to make it uplifting.

Private letter or public message?

Choose Private for words you don't want displayed in the shared universe. Anyone with your secret link can still read them, so avoid sensitive information. Choose Public only if you're comfortable with strangers reading, copying and sharing the words; public messages are not reviewed before publication.

What happens after I press Send?

Your message receives its own fictional constellation, coordinates and keepsake picture. It does not travel to a real star, make a wish come true or predict what will happen. Learn how the digital wishing well works or make a wish online now.
